It might be the unique relief we can offer anyone suffering from TMJ disorder.

It could be our clean, modern office with a separate adult waiting area—and plenty of other amenities, including:

• Plenty of reading material
• Fresh-baked cookies
• Coffee, tea, and water

ADULT ORTHODONTICS

Braces

More and more adults are wearing braces to achieve the smile they always wanted. At Moshiri Orthodontics, many adults choose braces because it’s often the most direct treatment option. We use only the most advanced 3M brackets in the industry—along with the fastest, most comfortable treatment available today.

Invisalign

Invisalign treatment is a less noticeable method for dental adjustments than braces and requires less maintenance and office visits. Plus, because clear aligners are removable, flossing is much easier, and you don’t have to put up with as many dietary restrictions. As the only Invisalign Master Faculty in St. Louis, we can give you the best clear aligner treatment around. If it can be done with Invisalign, we can do it.

Accelerated Orthodontics

More and more adults are wearing braces to achieve the smile they always wanted. At Moshiri Orthodontics, many adults choose braces because it’s often the most direct treatment option. We use only the most advanced 3M brackets in the industry—along with the fastest, most comfortable treatment available today.

Jaw Surgery

At Moshiri Orthodontics, we prefer to avoid surgery whenever possible. However, jaw surgery can make all the difference for patients suffering from extreme problems such as significant jaw bone discrepancies, sleep apnea, TMJ disorder, or other issues braces just can’t solve. When surgery is truly necessary, we will coordinate with your dental specialists to ensure it’s done with the highest level of care.

Too many people hide their smile because of insecurities with their teeth. This was my story for many years—until I found Moshiri Orthodontics! Their staff and doctors are committed to helping you. They answered all of my questions and made sure I was happy with my results. Now, just a little under two years later, I can smile with confidence and don’t feel insecure about my teeth!

– Ita Baltadano

Testimonials

Moshiri Orthodontics is not just for kids—it’s for adults, too. Don’t waste time and money at other places. Go somewhere where the doctors get it right the first time. After searching for years and getting the wrong diagnosis, I finally found a place that got it right the first time.

– Cheri Koene

I am a self-confessed “white-knuckler” with anything to do with my teeth. The Doctors Moshiri and all their staff have gone out of their way to put me at ease and make me comfortable. I would very enthusiastically recommend them to anyone, child or adult, who is seeking orthodontic treatment. I am so grateful my dentist referred me to Moshiri.

Testimonials

I absolutely recommend Moshiri Orthodontics! As an adult, this was my second time with braces. The first time I was a teenager. I was referred to Moshiri due to TMJ disorder, and they did an excellent job of correcting my bite and straightening my teeth. Kudos to you guys!

Your First Visit

Standard adult orthodontic consultations are complimentary. There’s no fee getting in the way of finding out how we can help you. (TMJ/TMD Consultations do have a fee.)

During your first visit, we’ll conduct a comprehensive evaluation of your oral health. Then, we’ll go over all of your possible options, factoring in your health history, lifestyle, and personal preferences.

For example, if you’ve worn braces in the past, but your teeth have shifted, the whole process should go much quicker the second time around.

We make it a priority to coordinate with your current dental specialists. If you’re undergoing—or considering—cosmetic or reconstructive procedures, we’re fully prepared to collaborate with your professionals to ensure our work compliments the whole process.

Your first visit will probably take about an hour, and no matter what treatment you need, we’ll make sure you understand exactly what options will work best for you.

It’s critical that we have your health history and insurance information, if applicable, prior to your appointment. That way, we give you the correct treatment plan and cost estimates. After you have made your appointment, check your email for these important forms.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I’m already an adult. Is it too late for me to get braces?

Not at all. In fact, close to half of our orthodontic patients are adults. Health, happiness, and self-esteem are just as vital to adults as to children. We’ve fitted patients in their 50s and 60s with braces or Invisalign. No patient is too old for oral health!

Can I wear braces even though I have crowns and missing teeth?

Yes. A tooth with a crown will move just like a tooth with a simple filling. In the case of missing teeth, orthodontic treatment will still align the remaining teeth.

Does my family dentist have to schedule my appointment with the orthodontist?

No. Some of our patients are referred by their family dentist, but many others take the initiative to schedule an examination themselves.

How do I schedule an appointment for an initial exam?
Simply call our office, send us an email, or fill out our online appointment request form.  Our office will then get in touch with you.
What will happen at my initial examination appointment?
Upon arriving, each patient and parent will be seen by the staff and doctor. Together, they will prepare you for the initial exam. We will take the necessary photographs and x-rays to allow us to make a proper diagnosis. The doctor will then complete a brief, but thorough, exam. To read more about your first visit, see First Visit.
What will I learn from my initial examination?
There are five essential questions that we will cover during the initial examination:
  • Is there an orthodontic problem?
  • What must be done to correct the problem?
  • Will any teeth need to be removed?
  • How long will the treatment take to complete?
  • How much will the treatment cost?
At your initial examination, we’ll help you understand the answers to these questions—and any others you may have.
How long will my treatment take?
Treatment time depends on each patient’s specific orthodontic problem. In general, treatment time lasts from 8–30 months. The average time frame a person is in braces is approximately 18–24 months.
How much will braces cost? Are financing options available? How does my insurance work?

We will go over the estimated cost and financial options during the initial examination. We have several financing options available to accommodate your needs, and we will review those with you as well. We will also review your insurance policy and help to maximize your benefit and file your claims.

How often will I have to schedule appointments?

For most patients in braces, we schedule appointments every 5–10 weeks. If there are specific situations that require more frequent monitoring, we will schedule appointments accordingly.

How often should I brush my teeth while in braces?
Patients should brush their teeth at least three times each day for two minutes at a time. We will show each patient how to floss their teeth with braces and may also provide a prescription for a special fluoride.
Do I need to see my dentist while in braces?

Yes. Regular checkups with your dentist are important while in braces. Your dentist will determine the intervals between appointments.

What is an “emergency appointment?” How are those handled?

If your braces break somehow or are causing you extreme pain, you should call our office. In most cases, we can address the issue over the telephone. If you do require an emergency appointment, we will schedule you in ASAP.
